USA Withdraw Steven Taylor and Nitish Kumar For The Nepal T20Is; Ali Khan Returns

USA withdraws Steven Taylor and Nitish Kumar from the Nepal T20Is squad, while fast bowler Ali Khan makes his return.

In preparation for the T20I series against Nepal later this week, former skipper Steven Taylor has been left out of the roster.

The 31-year-old was fired after struggling with bad form during the Netherlands 50-over series and the World Cup.

While Taylor was included in the Netherlands T20I team, he was rested due to an injury he sustained in the 50-over series that came before the T20I series.

Betpro exchange app understands that Taylor was 'recuperating' from his injuries before the team left for the Namibia tour, which is why he was not included in the touring group.

With two hundred in the just finished Minor League T20, the big-hitting southpaw demonstrated his form and fitness, but those scores are yet unnoticed.

Nitish Kumar was also told the door, having averaged just 13 in his previous 7 innings since the World Cup. The former captain of Canada, who changed teams before the T20 World Cup earlier this year, noticed a decline in his play following an outstanding 27-run innings against India.

A groin injury that will keep him out of action for six weeks will once again impede Smit Patel's rise in American cricket. This means he will miss the 50-over tri-series that follows the T20I series.

However, their lucky fast bowler, Ali Khan, will encourage the USA. After choosing to forego the Netherlands tour and missing a CPL season with Trinbago Knight Riders due to a leg injury, the 33-year-old is scheduled to play in USA colors for the first time following the World Cup.

Aaron Jones is back in the mix after choosing to play for the St. Lucia Kings in the CPL over traveling with the USA to Namibia.

If Jones hadn't made headlines in the cricket world with his incredible century in the CPL final, he could have been overlooked for the Nepal series.

Following his request for a rest during the T20Is in Namibia due to a shoulder ache, Monank Patel will resume leading the team.

For the third consecutive tour to the United States, Utkarsh Srivastava keeps his spot in the lineup.

Of the fifteen games in which the United States has appeared after his announcement, Srivastava, 17, has only appeared once.
